Exclusive : Boniface joins Union SG on 4+1 year deal but ineligible to face Rangers in UCLQ

Last season's surprise package in the Belgian Pro League Royale Union Saint-Gilloise are on the brink of announcing the signing of promising Nigerian striker Victor Boniface.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Boniface has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise with the option of an additional season.

Bodø/Glimt agreed to shred their agreement with Boniface before its expiration after accepting a bid of two million euros (approximately N853 million in Nigerian currency) from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Although Union SG have been able to get the deal over the line with only an official announcement pending, it is confirmed that Boniface is ineligible to be fielded for the Belgian side when they face Glasgow Rangers home and away in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The 2001-born striker is cup-tied having represented Bodø/Glimt in the first and second qualifying rounds, scoring five goals in four appearances, so he can only play in the group stage of the Champions League if Union SG qualify.

Boniface, who is a product of Real Sapphire, has been allocated the number 7 jersey at Union SG.

He departs Bodø/Glimt after scoring 23 goals in 66 all-competition appearances.
