Published: August 04, 2022
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has started running the rule over The Blues' brand new signing Carney Chukwuemeka.
The official website of Chelsea has published images of Chukwuemeka's first training session with his new teammates.
Tuchel was pictured having a chat with the England U19 international of Nigerian descent, Kalidou Koulibaly and N'Golo Kante during the training session at Cobham Training Center.
Chukwuemeka is Chelsea's fourth summer signing, joining them from Premier League rivals Aston Villa on a six-year contract until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly has suggested that Chukwuemeka will be not be loaned out in the forthcoming season, stating that they are looking forward to seeing him in action at Stamford Bridge.
"Carney is one of the most exciting young players in Europe so we are really looking forward to seeing him in action at Stamford Bridge," Boehly said to Chelsea's official website.
"We are delighted to be able to bring him to Chelsea and add such a talented young individual to our squad for the new season and beyond".
Chukwuemeka was left out of Aston Villa's squad for their pre-season tour of Australia amid speculation surrounding his future.
The 2022 European U19 Championship winner totaled fourteen appearances for Aston Villa in the Premier League.
