Manchester United confirm squad number for Anglo-Nigerian forward
Published: August 06, 2022
Through their official website, Manchester United have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2022-2023 season.
The Red Devils begin their Premier League campaign against Odel Offiah's Brighton & Hove at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, however, the central defender is unlikely to be involved for the Seagulls.
United have listed Shola Shoretire as a first team player on paper though the England U19 international has been linked with a temporary departure from the club before the close of the summer transfer window.
Shoretire has been listed as a forward along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga, Tahith Chong and Alejandro Garnacho.
In the 30th year of the Premier League, Shoretire has been given the number 47, retaining the shirt he wore during the 2021-2022 season.
The 18-year-old wore the number 74 at the back of his jersey when he made his Premier League debut against Newcastle United on February 21, 2021.
Shoretire has recorded five first team appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, including three in the topflight.
