Official : 2014 Nigeria U23 invitee joins Konyaspor on permanent deal from Middlesbrough
Published: August 13, 2022Through their official website, Turkish Super Lig club Konyaspor have announced the signing of Anglo-Nigerian-Ugandan centre-forward Uche Ikpeazu.
The 2014 Nigeria Olympic National Team invitee has joined Konyaspor on a permanent deal, ending his association with Championship outfit Middlesbrough in the process.
In a signing ceremony held at MEDAŞ Konya Metropolitan Stadium and attended by manager Mehmet Orhan, Ikpeazu put pen to paper on a two-year contract with option for a further season.
He departs Boro after making twenty-two appearances and scoring three goals after joining from Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of 2021.
Konyaspor have confirmed that they did not pay a transfer fee to sign Ikpeazu, who has been allocated the number 29 jersey for the 2022-2023 season.
The 27-year-old had to move on to pastures new because he wasn't in the plans of manager Chris Wilder this term.
Ikpeazu has also worn the colours of Reading, Watford, Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale, Blackpool, Cambridge United, Cardiff City and Heart of Midlothian in the past.
