Official : Portuguese club Boavista loan in Nigerian central defender
Published: August 17, 2022With a statement on their official website, Portuguese Primeira Liga club Boavista have announced the signing of Nigerian central defender Bruno Onyemaechi.
The CD Feirense-owned player has moved to Boavista on loan until the end of the 2022-2023 season with a purchase option included in the agreement.
Onyemaechi, who is capable of playing as a centre-back and left-back, has been on the books of CD Feirense for the last four seasons and is credited with thirty appearances for the club, scoring two goals last term.
Prior to his promotion to CD Feirense's first team, he was a key member of their U23 squad for two seasons, scoring five goals in fifty three games.
During his career at the Santa Maria da Feira club, Onyemaechi also had a spell at SC Vila Real, on loan, in 2020-2021.
Boavista have claimed that Onyemaechi has been named in Nigeria's provisional squad list on several occasions.
He played for Lillestrom youth team before joining Boavista in the 2018-2019 season.
