Talented midfielder reacts to signing new deal with Chelsea
Published: August 21, 2022England youth international Leo Castledine took to social media on Sunday evening to express his happiness at signing a new deal with Premier League giants Chelsea.
The Blues confirmed on Friday that the talented midfielder celebrated his seventeenth birthday by putting pen to paper on his first professional contract with the club.
He marked his birthday on Saturday by captaining Chelsea as they thrashed Leicester City 4-0 in the U18 Premier League.
The Chelsea U18s squad contained two Nigeria-eligible players in Chinonso Chibueze and Somto Boniface.
Leading the attack, Castledine provided the assist for Chelsea's second goal before grabbing the third and fourth goals of the encounter.
Writing on Instagram, Castledine said : "A proud moment to have signed my first professional contract @chelseafc bring on the rest of the season !"
Castledine made his Premier League 2 debut in the new season, coming off the bench in the 7-1 rout of Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 8.
