Top ten Nigerian performers in Europe August 19-22 including six Super Eagles stars

Nigerian players turned out for their respective clubs in the latest round of matches played in the European Leagues. 
 

Allnigeriasoccer.com takes a look at the top ten performers 19th - 22nd of August 2022.

Six Super Eagles stars namely Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Joe Aribo, Victor Osimhen, Chidozie Awaziem and Umar Sadiq made the cut.

1) Alex Iwobi (Everton Football Club - Premier League) : Iwobi was impressive in midfield once again as Everton grabbed a late draw against Taiwo Awoniyi's Nottingham Forest.

Iwobi who played the entire duration of the game got booked as Everton were held to a 1-1 by newly-promoted Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

2) Ola Aina (Torino FC - Serie A) : Aina had an outstanding game in Torino's 0-0 draw with Lazio in the Italian Serie A.

The 25-year-old who played the entire duration of encounter won six ground duels and made two successful tackles.

3) Joe Aribo (Southampton - Premier League) : Nigerian International, Joe Aribo was in action for the Southampton in their 2-1 win over Leicester City.

The 26-year-old had a good day in office but got yellow carded for simulation after going down in the box.

4) Henry Offia (Trelleborgs FF - Sweden Superettan) : Former Nigerian youth international, Henry Offia, bagged a brace as Trelleborgs FF defeated Dalkurd FF 4-2 at home.

The first goal brought the score even in the 44th minute, while the second gave the home team the lead right in the 46th minute.

5) Moses Usor (Slavia Prague Football Club - Czech 1. Liga) : In the resounding home victory for Slavia Prague, Moses Usor came off the bench to score twice.

On Sunday, the Czezh giants defeated FK Pardubice 7-0 in a league game.

The 36 Lion of Lagos product made his entry into the game in the 61st minute, and in the 79th and 89th minutes, he got on the scoresheet.

6) Victor Osimhen (SSC Napoli - Italian Serie A) : Osimhen scored for the Naples-based team in their 4-0 victory over Monza.

The Super Eagles striker now has two goals and an assist in the 2022/2023 Serie A season.

7) Chidioze Awaziem (Hajduk Split - Croatian HNL) : Lokomotiva Zagreb were defeated 2-1 by Hajduk Split , with Chidozie Awaziem opening his account for his temporary employer.

Before Grgic added a second, the Boavista loanee scored the game's opening goal in the 33rd minute.

8) Ibrahim Olawoyin (Ankara Keciörengücü's - Turkish 1. Lig) : The 24-year-old Olawoyin had a good day in office despite Ankara KG's 3-1 loss Bodrumspor.

Olawoyin assisted Melih Inan to score Ankara Keçiörengücü'ssole goal of the game.

9) Fred Friday (Strømsgodset - Norway Eliteserien) : Friday excelled in Strømsgodset's 6-0 victory over FK Jerv.

The Gulskogen-based team won easily thanks to goals from Fred and two of his assists.

On the other hand, Jack scored twice. He scored his first goal in the 58th minute, when he doubled the lead, and his second in the 88th.

10) Umar Sadiq (UD Almeria - La Liga Santander) : The lanky forward was on target in UD Almeria's 1-1 draw with Elche.

He opened the scoring in the 23rd minute but wasn't enough to give the Rojiblancos the maximum three points.
