Former Napoli striker Bruno Giordano, a Serie A champion with The Blues in 1987, has audaciously claimed that Victor Osimhen is better at heading than Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is renowned for his aerial process, having scored some incredible headers including against Wales at the 2016 European Championship, Barcelona in the 2011 Copa del Rey final and Sampdoria in the Serie A in 2019.
The Portugal icon is credited with 112 headed goals in his club career with the last one netted against Norwich City on April 16, 2022.
Last season, Osimhen scored more headed goals than any other player in the Italian topflight, seven in total.
Giordano is very impressed with Osimhen's contribution to the Napoli team and highlighted that heading is one of his best attributes.
"We are talking about an incredible player and we are not discovering him now, " Giordano said to Il Mattino, via Calcio Napoli 24.
"He opens gaps for his teammates, walks the defences and then scores. He does not give up and is always the protagonist : he plays every ball as if it were the one of life."
On Osimhen's greatest attribute, Giordano said : "The header. In this fundamental he is even stronger than Cristiano Ronaldo."
Osimhen has won six aerial duels combined in 167 minutes of action in his first two matches of the new Serie A season, one more than Ronaldo who has totaled 131 minutes in three games.
