Belgian champions Club Brugge are in the market for a striker and have targeted Racing Genk's Nigeria national teamer Paul Onuachu.
According to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, via voetbalnieuws.be, Racing Genk have brushed off Club Brugge's interest in the tall Nigerian forward as they are not willing to sell to a direct rival.
Club Brugge were ready to pay more than ten million euros to acquire Onuachu before the approach was turned down.
The FC Ebedei product would have earned more than his current wages if Genk sanctioned his move to Club Brugge.
Onuachu wants to play for one of the clubs in the big five European Leagues in Germany, Italy, England, Spain and France but nothing is concrete as of now, less than one week before the close of the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old made a splash in Belgium over the last two seasons for his goals, with 58 in 84 appearances across all competitions.
He has approximately two years left on his contract with Genk, whom he joined from FC Midtjylland in August 2019.
