Official : Belgian champions Club Brugge sign promising Nigerian midfielder
Published: August 28, 2022With a statement on their official website, Belgian Pro League giants Club Brugge have announced the signing of promising Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika.
Onyedika ended his association with Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland after signing a contract with the Belgian champions valid until 2027.
The 21-year-old Nigerian leaves the MCH Arena after making fifty seven appearances in all competitions, registering four goals and three assists.
Ahead of his debut for Club Brugge, Onyedika has been assigned the jersey number 15 for the 2022/2023 season.
The FC Ebedei product will be looking forward to helping his new employers have a decent outing in the UEFA Champions League and defend their league crown.
Onyedika spent time on loan at FC Frederica to gain European football experience during the 2020-2021 season
Following Frank Onyeka's transfer to Brentford last summer, the Super Eagles hopeful got his breakthrough in Midtjylland's first team.
During the 2021–2022 season, the FC Ebedei (Nigeria) graduate played 48 games for Midtjylland in all competitions and the highlight of his season was scoring against Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Celtic in a UEFA Champions League second round qualifier.
Former Nigeria internationals Daniel Amokachi and Joseph Akpala, and current Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis have played for Club Brugge in the past.
