Official : Bayern Munich loan out another Nigerian midfielder to Austria Klagenfurt
Published: August 30, 2022German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have loaned out another midfielder of Nigerian descent to Austrian Bundesliga side SK Austria Klagenfurt.
A day before the close of the summer transfer window in the country, Austria Klagenfurt, through their official website, confirmed the signing of Bayern Munich's Emilian Metu on loan for the remainder of the season.
Metu becomes the second Nigeria-eligible midfielder Bayern Munich have loaned out to Austria Klagenfurt this month, following in the footsteps of ex-Golden Eaglets star Francis Dada.
An Austrian underage international, Metu has a contract with Bayern Munich until June 2025 and was used in the Regionalliga Bayern in the new season, scoring one goal in six appearances.
Speaking to the official website of Austria Klagenfurt, Metu said : "After we failed in the relegation with St. Pölten, I followed how Austria did in the Bundesliga.
"The team has developed a lot and I'm looking forward to being a part of it now. My goal is to do well in training and to play as much as possible."
Metu, who is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father, turned out for the youth teams of
ESV Haidbrunn-Wacker Wiener Neustadt and SKN St. Pölten before switching to Bayern Munich in March 2021.
The 19-year-old will start training with his new teammates at Austria Klagenfurt on Tuesday, August 30.
