In the early kickoff, Alex Iwobi was in action for the entire duration of the game as Everton and Liverpool shared the spoils with a goalless draw in the 241st Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

After Cheikhou Kouyate and Brennan Johnson found the net, cap-tied Denmark international of Nigerian descent Philip Billing pulled one back with a fantastic strike in the 51st minute.

 

Solanke equalised from close range in the 63rd minute before providing the assist for the winning goal netted by Anthony with three minutes left.

 

Taiwo Awoniyi entered the fray in the 67th minute, international teammate Emmanuel Dennis played the last five minutes.

 

In the highest scoring game of the day, Frank Onyeka played for about half an hour as Brentford thrashed Leeds United 5-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

 

Ivan Toney was the star of the show with a hat-trick for the Bees. Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa also found the net for Thomas Frank's team, while Sinisterra and Roca netted for Leeds.

 

Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur are still unbeaten in the new season after a 2-1 success against Tosin Adarabioyo's Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

 

Spurs were 2-0 up thanks to goals from Pierre Hojbjerg and Harry Kane but the in-form striker Aleksandar Mitrovic pulled one back for the Cottagers with seven minutes left.

 

Fulham number 4 Tosin was in acton for the entirety of the game.

 

Honours were even at St James' Park as Newcastle United and Crystal Palace drew 0-0.

 

Michael Olise replaced another Nigeria target in Eberechi Eze in the 62nd minute, while former Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei was a non-playing substitute.

 

Joe Aribo started and was in action for 73 minutes for Southampton as they were beaten 1-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium.

 

Daniel Podence netted the winner when he converted Matheus Nunes's low cross in first half stoppage time.

 

Deadline day signing from Manchester City, Samuel Edozie made his Premier League debut for the Saints off the bench in the 73rd minute, replacing Romain Perraud.

 

Wolves midfielder Rúben Diogo da Silva Neves went into the book in the 81st minute for a foul on Edozie.
