Official : Super Eagles midfielder completes deadline day move to Aris
Published: September 16, 2022
With a statement on their official website, Greek Super League club Aris have announced the signing of Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo.
The transfer of the versatile midfielder went through before the window closed in Greece on September 15.
Etebo's transfer to Aris has ended his four-year association with Championship outfit Stoke City, whom he joined from Feirense in 2018.
During his time at the Potters, he totaled 51 all-competition appearances, registering two goals and an assist and was in action for 3,618 minutes.
Etebo requested a transfer this summer due a lack of first team opportunities, with his last game in a Stoke City shirt coming against Sheffield Wednesday on October 22, 2019.
The 26-year-old enjoyed loan spells at Getafe, Galatasaray and Watford as a Stoke City player.
He is a key member of the Nigeria national team, representing the Dream Team VI at the 2016 Olympic Games and the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
