Nigeria to face Algeria behind closed doors on Friday, Peseiro's team to wear green
Published: September 23, 2022
The Super Eagles' friendly with Algeria's home-based squad will take place behind closed doors, the Algerian Football Federation (AFF) confirmed on Friday morning.
Nigeria's B team had been scheduled to face their Algerian counterparts today before a repeat fixture between the main teams next Tuesday but the home-based Super Eagles failed to qualify for CHAN 2023 after they were beaten by Ghana on aggregate.
Nigeria will field their A squad in today's clash at the Chahid Hamlaoui stadium in Constantine, starting from 1730 hours.
On the eve of the meeting, the Super Eagles trained at the Hamlaoui pitch, with a very important guest in attendance.
Nigeria's Ambassador to Algeria, Hajia Aisha Mohammed Garba, visited the team during Thursday's workout.
The traditional technical meeting took place in the morning where the two teams displayed the outfits with which they will take to the pitch, white for Algeria and green for Nigeria.
It is envisaged that manager Jose Peseiro will hand minutes to the fringe players in his squad in Friday evening's friendly with an eye on Tuesday's clash against Riyad Mahrez and co.
