Younger brother of Southampton's Nigeria-eligible winger joins Wolves on scholarship deal
Published: September 29, 2022
Thomas Edozie, the younger brother of Southampton's Nigeria-eligible winger Samuel Edozie, has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a scholarship deal.
The attacking midfielder has signed a two-year contract with Wolves valid until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
The older Edozie ended his association with Manchester City in the summer transfer window, with the Premier League champions including a buy-back clause into the deal taking him to the St Mary's Stadium.
Tom has moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers from London-based grassroots club XYZ Academy, which produced talented Huddersfield Town central defender Mustapha Olagunju and former Peterborough United center forward Harmeed Ishola.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers newbie has been described by XYZ Academy as 'an extremely gifted goalscoring midfielder who does his most eye-catching work in crowded areas, combining brilliant close control and dribbling with an ability to unlock a compact defence with a piece of skill.'
Thomas joined XYZ late 2021 and scored on his debut in an away match against Charlton Athletic youth team.
He links up with Michael Agboola, Testimony Igbinoghene and Temple Ojinnaka at the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy.
