 UCL wrap : Jenz and Celtic crash out of Europe; Mukairu, Chukwuemeka non-playing subs

Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of the UEFA Champions League matches involving Nigeria-eligible players on Tuesday, October 25.


At the Red Bull Arena, Anglo-Nigerian youngster Carney Chukwuemeka was an unused substitute in Chelsea's 2-1 away win over RB Salzburg.


Mateo Kovačić put the two time winners ahead in the 23rd minute with a magnificent strike.


The hosts got back on level terms through Austrian forward of Nigerian descent, Chukwubuike Adamu in the 49th minute.


Chelsea got their win in the 64th minute following a well curled finish from Kai Havertz.


Moving to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. Paul Mukairu failed to come off the bench in his FC Copenhagen's 3-0 loss to Sevilla.


Youssef En-Nesyri gave the hosts the lead in the 61st minute after combining with Papu Gomez.


In the 86th minute, Isco extended Sevilla's lead before Gonzalo Montiel sealed the win for Rojiblancos, finishing off a beautiful gameplay late in the encounter.


And at Celtic Park, Moritz Jenz played the entire duration of the game in Celtic's 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Group F. 


Giorgos Giakoumakis put the Scottish giants ahead in the 34th minute while Mykhailo Mudryk got the equalizer in the 58th minute.

 

The Scottish champions will not be playing European football in the spring as they are bottom of the table with two points heading into the final round of games.
