Manchester City have pulled off a transfer coup by agreeing a deal to sign Sheffield United U18 striker Kylan Midwood.

The 14-year-old is regarded as one of the top prospects at the Sheffield United Academy and has caught the eye this season, playing above his age group.

Midwood found the net as the Blades U18s thrashed Birmingham City 5-1 in October and has also featured in matches against Crewe Alexandra, Colchester United, Charlton Athletic and Millwall this term.

According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have agreed to sign U15 Sheffield United top talent Kylan Midwood, beating Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Leeds United to his signature.

The Citizens want to develop and sign the best young British talent and offer pathway to first team football.

England stars Dominic Calvert-Lewin,  Harry Maguire and  Kyle Walker are products of the Sheffield United academy.
