Van Nistelrooy includes 17yo Lagos-born defender in PSV squad for training camp
Published: December 15, 2022
Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has included Lagos-born defender Emmanuel van de Blaak in PSV Eindhoven's traveling squad for a warm weather training camp in Spain.
The former Manchester United striker has taken 31 players to Marbella, Spain, with the 17-year-old Van de Blaak among five players who received their first call-up.
England U21 international of Nigerian descent Nonso Madueke also flew out to Marbella on Wednesday for the ten-day training camp.
The Eindhoven club will be based at the Marbella Football Center from December 14 - 23 and have arranged a friendly against Italian Serie A outfit Sassuolo on Saturday, December 17.
PSV started preparations for the second half of the season on Monday, December 5, but Van de Blaak was not among the twenty eight players invited.
The talented teenager has a chance to impress Ruud van Nistelrooy during the warm weather training camp in Spain.
He made his professional debut for PSV's first team in a Europa League match against FK Bodø/Glimt on November 3, 2022, coming off the bench in stoppage time.
