Ghana Football Association target will not return to Chelsea in January
Published: December 17, 2022
Ghana Football Association target Callum Hudson-Odoi will be staying put at Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the 2022-2023 season and this is confirmed.
Bayer Leverkusen had loaned the 22-year-old from Chelsea in the summer, but the Blues had an option for the winger to return early in the winter.
Apparently the deadline for Hudson-Odoi to return to England has passed, which means that Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso can continue to count on the services of the player until the end of the season.
"We assumed that Callum would stay, but now we also have the certainty that he will stay until the end of the season.
"We're very happy, he's key player, " Bayer Leverkusen director Simon Rolfes told Bild.
Hudson-Odoi was loaned out to the Black and Reds because he wasn't in the plans of former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel.
In fifteen appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, eleven of which he started, Hudson-Odoi has scored one goal and registered an assist.
Hudson-Odoi has been on the books of Chelsea since U8 level and is credited with 126 appearances for the first team.
