Nigerian agent brokers deal taking N5.7b-rated striker to Chelsea in January 2023
Published: December 22, 2022
English Premier League giants Chelsea are on the verge of confirming the signing of talented Ivory Coast international David Datro Fofana.
According to transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano, the Molde striker joining Chelsea is done and only an official confirmation by the Blues is pending ahead of the reopening of the transfer window on January 1, 2023.
Fofana is scheduled to undergo a medical in London today, his 20th birthday, ahead of his unveiling by the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Norwegian champions Molde have agreed to terminate Fofana's contract two years before its expiration in exchange for 12 million euros (approximately N5.7 billion in Nigerian currency) - the most expensive outbound transfer in the history of the Norwegian Eliteserien.
The deal taking Fofana to Chelsea was brokered by Nigerian agent Atta Aneke and it's not the first time the respected intermediary has negotiated with Premier League clubs.
Aneke's flagship client is former Watford and Manchester United center forward Odion Ighalo and he played a key role in the loan transfer of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer to the Red Devils in January 2020 due to his close links with Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
The Norwegian-based Nigerian agent also looks after Super Eagles stars Chidera Ejuke and Aaron Samuel.
