Premier League giants Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Molde striker David Datro Fofana dubbed 'The Ivorian Mbappe'.
According to transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano, Fofana has completed all medical tests on Thursday in London, paving the way for Chelsea to unveil the Ivorian striker as a new signing soon,
The 20-year-old has agreed personal terms on a multi-year contract with the two-time European champions.
Norwegian champions Molde have agreed to terminate the player's contract two years before its expiration in exchange for twelve million euros, making him the most expensive player in history sold by an Eliteserien club.
Fofana joined Molde in February 2021 and helped them to win the Norwegian Eliteserien in 2022 by scoring thirteen goals.
He has European experience under his belt, featuring eight times for Molde in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.
Fofana will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of retired Ivory Coast internationals Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou who won the UEFA Champions League winners with Chelsea in 2012.
