Published: December 28, 2022
Belgian Pro League side Racing Genk have confirmed the signing of former Nigeria U20 international Yira Sor.
Sor has put pen to paper on a deal until 2027, ending his association with Slavia Prague in the process, Racing Genk confirmed on their official website on Wednesday, December 28.
The 22-year-old can play in multiple positions in attack including right winger, left winger and center forward.
Only Cyriel Dessers (10) and Tammy Abraham (9) scored more goals than Sor (6) in the inaugural edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
A product of 36 Lion, he started his career in Europe at Banik Ostrava before transferring to Slavia Prague in January 2022.
In the first half of the season, he struggled with a calf injury, which limited his appearances to nine in all competitions.
Sor will start with an individual training program before joining the squad when they return from their break.
A member of the Flying Eagles squad to the 2019 World Cup, Sor has been allocated the number 14 jersey at Racing Genk.
