Salernitana express interest in Ehizibue but Udinese offer another Super Eagles-eligible player
Published: January 03, 2023
Italian Serie A club Salernitana are reportedly on the lookout for a right back and have identified Dutch defender of Nigerian heritage, Kingsley Ehizibue, who plays for Udinese, as the ideal candidate.
Italian media outlet, Il Messaggero Veneto, via Tuttomercatoweb carried the report on one of their sporting pages and scooped that the Zebras are not willing to allow the 2020 Super Eagles invitee depart the club.
Udinese, according to the report, are considering letting Republic of Ireland U21 international of Nigerian descent Festy Ebosele move to the Campania-based outfi instead.
Ehizibue has made 11 Serie A appearances since joining Udinese from FC Cologne last August and has been yellow-carded twice this season, while former Derby County wonderkid Ebosele has played three games in all competitions.
Salernitana are currently placed 12th in the Serie A table with 17 points while Udinese are four places above them on 24 points.
When the league resumes on Wednesday after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Salernitana will welcome AC Milan while Udinese play at home against Empoli.
