Hale End products Saka, Maitland-Niles; Super Eagles stars send messages to Iwobi after injury
Published: January 08, 2023Everton are set to confirm the injury suffered by one of their standout players this season, Alex Iwobi is not as bad as first feared.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that the Toffees medics have diagnosed that Iwobi's ankle is not broken, but it is bruised and swollen, and the initial prognosis is that he will spend 'few weeks' on the sidelines.
Iwobi had to be taken off on a stretcher in the opening minutes of the second half of Everton's 3-1 loss to Manchester United in an Emirates FA Cup fixture on Friday night.
The Super Eagles star landed awkwardly after he was accidentally caught on the ankle by Manchester United fullback Tyrell Malacia as he broke forward.
Iwobi sounded confident of making an early comeback when he took to social media to provide an update on his injury on Saturday.
The Everton number 17 wrote on Instagram : "Appreciate The Love, Back Soon".
