Norwich GK resumes training with Flying Eagles after injury, teammate Coker also in camp
Published: January 16, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Norwich City goalkeeper David Aziaya has resumed training with the Flying Eagles in Abuja ahead of the upcoming 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
Aziaya was conspicuously missing from the matchday squad as the Canaries suffered a 7-1 loss to Chelsea in the U18 Premier League at the weekend, and also sat out the goalless draw with Sunderland in the Premier League 2 due to his commitments with the Nigeria U20 national team.
The 18-year-old didn't train with the Flying Eagles players in camp last week because he was recovering from an undisclosed ailment.
However, Aziaya's injury troubles are seemingly over as he was spotted training with the national team in Monday's workout.
Aziaya's teammate at the Canaries, Kenny Coker has also reported for international duty, and was monitored by manager Ladan Bosso at close quarters during the recent friendly against Global Peace FC of Jos.
Coker, also eligible for England and United States, arrived the Flying Eagles camp with a huge reputation having made five senior appearances albeit during his time with Southend United.
Meanwhile, officials of the Flying Eagles are in talks with one or two academies to play a friendly this week.
