Nigeria-eligible winger Chinonso Chibueze has signed a new deal with Premier League club Chelsea.
Chibueze took to social media on Sunday to announce that he has signed his first professional contract at Chelsea.
The 2006-born player started the 2022-2023 campaign as a first-year scholar and has now confirmed he has gone pro, a day after celebrating his seventeenth birthday.
Writing on Instagram, Chibueze stated : "Delighted to have signed my first professional contract with Chelsea".
Chibueze has been described by Chelsea's official website as 'a direct, powerful attacking player who prefers to play as a right winger and he scored a high number of goals throughout his schoolboy years'.
In the current season, he has represented the Blues in the U18 Premier League and U18 Premier League Cup.
Chibueze has been on the books of Chelsea since the end of his U10 season, after joining from fellow London club Fulham.
Chinonso is the younger brother of former Chelsea youth team goalkeeper Kelechi Chibueze, who departed the Blues in October 2020 after ten years in the academy.
