Sheffield Wednesday make transfer decision on 2019 Flying Eagles invitee
Published: January 31, 2023
EFL League One promotion hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday have made a transfer decision on 2019 Flying Eagles invitee Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
According to Sheffield Star, the Owls have decided to keep Dele-Bashiru in the squad amid speculation linking the midfielder with a departure from the club before the close of the winter transfer market.
PSV Eidhoven, Antalyaspor and AC Milan are among the clubs monitoring the situation of the Manchester City academy product, while a bid from Blackpool was rejected last summer.
Per the report, Sheffield Wednesday have no intention of cashing in on the 21-year-old and there is now a strong possibility of him leaving the Hillsborough Stadium as a free agent at the end of the season.
Representatives of Dele-Bashiru are negotiating a new deal with Sheffield Wednesday but no headway has been made regarding resolving the contract impasse.
He joined Sheffield Wednesday in July 2020 and has gone on to make 72 appearances, in which he directly participated in ten goals (6 goals, 4 assists).
Fisayo is the younger brother of Watford star Tom Dele-Bashiru, who has caps for Nigeria at U20 and U23 levels.
