Harvey Elliott beats Spanish-Nigerian-Cuban winger to win Liverpool Goal of the Month
Published: February 09, 2023
Promising winger Elijah Gift has missed out on Liverpool's Goal of the Month for January 2023.
The Spanish-Nigerian-Cuban starlet was nominated for the accolade alongside eight other Liverpool players across all levels namely Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Darwin Núñez, Mohamed Salah, Billy Koumetio, Luca Stephenson, Harvey Elliott (2), Ranel Young and Ceri Holland.
Harvey Elliott's sensational strike from distance against Wolverhampton Wanderers was chosen by the Reds supporters as the club's Goal of the Month for January.
Gift was shortlisted for his effort in Liverpool U18s 2-2 draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby on January 14.
Just before the hour mark, the Liverpool number 7 put Liverpool 2-1 up with a brilliant curling effort from outside the box.
Gift's beauty didn't finish in the top five, with Darwin Nunez, Koumetio, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Elliott completing the top five in that order.
The 16-year-old has been on the books of Liverpool since an U12 and signed a scholarship deal with the Anfield side last summer.
