Promising shot-stopper signs new contract with Chelsea

Promising goalkeeper Teddy Curd has taken to social media to confirm that he has signed a new contract with English Premier League side Chelsea.
Curd, who started 2022-2023 as a first-year scholar, has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Blues.
The 2006-born glovesman has played nonstop at Chelsea after joining the club at U9 level.
He was in the Chelsea side that won the the U16 Premier League national finals and the U18 Premier League Cup in his final season as a schoolboy, and helped England U16s to win the Val de Marne trophy.
Writing on Instagram, Curd stated : "Proud to sign my first professional contract with the club I’ve been playing for since the age of 8. It has been the most enjoyable journey and I am so grateful and honoured to be a professional footballer for Chelsea."
Chelsea's official website describes him as a goalkeeper who is 'very confident with the ball at his feet when playing out from the back'
This season, Curd has played in U18 Premier League and UEFA Youth League matches, and was on the bench for FA Youth Cup, Papa Johns Trophy and Premier League 2 games.
