Ex-Super Eagles star Victor Moses reveals when he expects to return to full training
Published: February 20, 2023
Victor Moses has revealed that he expects to return to full training at Spartak Moscow in the next two weeks.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has not played competitively for the Muscovites since August 2022 after suffering an Achilles tendon injury during the club's 2-0 win against Ural.
But the former Chelsea star is making good progress from his injury and was named in Spartak Moscow's squad for a training camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, though he didn't take part in any of their preparatory games.
Spartak Moscow have done fantastically well without their number 8 as they are sitting second in the table ahead of the resumption of the Russian Premier League a week on Friday.
Speaking to Spartak Moscow's YouTube page, Moses had the following to say : "When you have a Achilles injury like this, it normally takes time, six to seven months, to get yourself back into your normal rhythm.
"I'm working so hard to get back into full fitness, started to do a little bit with the team now, but hopefully maybe in about two weeks or so I should start full session with the team.
"It's just a matter of process, I just get to take it each day as it comes and the only way I can obviously overcome this is by working hard everyday, and to try and make sure I can get as fit as possible to come back and join the team fully."
Moses started the season on fire, scoring two goals in the opening three matches before the trip to Ural, where he suffered the worst injury in his career.
