'He reminds me of Cavani' - Agent likens Osimhen to former Man Utd striker
Published: March 01, 2023
Andrea D'Amico, the Italian agent who brokered the deal that took Victor Osimhen from Lille to Napoli in 2020, has likened the Nigeria international to former Napoli and Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani.
The intermediary highlighted that Osimhen is a lethal finisher and has the same physical attributes as the Uruguay marksman.
Osimhen has always delivered for Napoli when he has stepped on the pitch this season, scoring nineteen goals in twenty matches to lead the scoring charts in the Italian Serie A.
His form has led to speculation of a summer transfer to the English Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United credited with an interest.
D'Amico revealed that Osimhen is focused on winning the Serie A and UEFA Champions League amid rumours of a possible departure from the Blues.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, via Spazio Napoli, D'Amico said : "You cannot give him space. I didn't expect him to be so strong but his incredible qualities showed through.
"When I took care of the transfer from Lille to Napoli I had no awareness of the boy's explosive strength and killer instinct.
"He reminds me of the best Cavani in terms of hunger and aggressiveness."
Cavani notched 104 goals in 134 games for Napoli, while Osimhen has 49 goals to his name in 87 games.
