Overdue payables : IMC is another LMC with a new name

Even though I was not expecting much from the Interim Management Committee (IMC) due to the manner at which the body was constituted, it's still pertinent to underscore its failure and successes in the first stanza of the season.

There is virtually nothing you can do without funds, the task was understandable before everyone in the committee agreed to work for the good of Nigerian Football, so while we applaud them for the little successes achieved, it's not out of place to hammer them when necessary.

The IMC has done well in terms of referees indemnity which comes on time, kudos to the body as well for approving only pitches that are football friendly.

However, the actors are still being owed, footballers have submitted complaints about their entitlement, but just as it was during the LMC era, the league governing body has continued to turn deaf ears to this request.

A former player of Wikki Tourists, Obinna Orji held the club to ransom just ahead of their match day 7 encounter with Enyimba, his claims were about entitlements which Wikki Tourists have refused to pay, it took the intervention of some stakeholders to get the game underway.

There are several instances too, and to this end, I'm appealing to the IMC to listen to the requests of players and officials that are being owed by clubs, it's really difficult to fix, but if those involved are put on their toes to fulfill their own part of all obligations, the league will be free from debt and overdue payables in no time.

Rome was not built in a day truly, but the IMC should start building, the body's silence is deafening, this issue should be addressed, let the people know where they belong, let everyone who work in the league get their entitlement as and when due.

Clubs found wanting should also be sanctioned according to the rule books.

This is one of the few ways we can curb happenings that will put the Nigeria Premier Football League into disrepute
