U20 AFCON : Flying Eagles fullbacks named in CAF Best XI

Flying Eagles defenders, Augustine Njoku and Solomon Agbalaka made the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Best XI of the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Nigeria finished the tournament as the third best team after defeating Tunisia 4-0 in the 3rd place playoff on Friday while Senegal on Saturday emerged winners after defeating The Gambia 2-0 in the final.
Winger Ibrahim Muhammad who was also instrumental in Nigeria's campaign in Egypt as well as impressive centreback, Benjamin Fredrick missed out of the CAF team.
Njoku played four matches for the seven-time African champions from the group stage to the quarterfinals but was a non-playing substitute for the semifinals and 3rd place final.
Left-back, Agbalaka was named Man-of-Match winner in the group matches against Egypt and Mozambique.
In the list released on Sunday by the continent's football ruling body, winners of the U-20 AFCON, Senegal had four players while Gambia and Congo had two players. Uganda had one of their players named.
Nigeria, Tunisia, The Gambia and Senegal will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
