Victor Osimhen has been shortlisted for two accolades following his outstanding display for Napoli in their 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in a Champions League round of 16, second leg match at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Nigeria international proved decisive for the Serie A table toppers, notching a brace to double his tally in the Champions League.
The first of his two goals has been nominated for the Champions League Goal of the Week.
Eintracht Frankfurt tried to do things differently having lost the first leg and held Napoli right till the stroke of halftime when Osimhen popped up, and used his height and leap to power home a header past goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.
Osimhen is up against two Manchester City stars in the shape of İlkay Gündoğan and Kevin de Bruyne, plus Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema for the Goal of the Week.
The Napoli number 9 is also in the running for the Champions League Player of the Week. He has been nominated alongside Manchester City five-goal hero against RB Leipzig, Erling Haaland, Benzema and Inter Milan's Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
UEFA's Technical Observer Panel highlighted that Osimhen was named Player of the Match because 'he decided the match with a world-class header and his second goal'.
