Shola Shoretire has been one of the exceptional talents in recent years from the Red Devils Academy.
He scored 23 goals and registered 16 assists in 59 appearances for Manchester United U21s in the Premier League 2 and Papa Johns Trophy combined before embarking on his first loan spell at Bolton Wanderers in search of more experience and improvement in his game.
This is how he has fared so far for the League one side.
Shoretire has been named in the matchday squad 12 times by Bolton manager Ian Evatt. He has started 10 games and has come on as a substitute twice.
Playing in Evatt's most preferred 3-4-1-2 formation, the Nigerian-eligible player has played as either an attacking midfielder or central forward and never as a right winger, which is his primary position.
Shoretire is yet to register a goal or assist for the Wanderers but has been decent. According to whoscored.com, he is the 14th-best player for Bolton this season, which is not bad for a 19-year-old considering that he joined the club two months ago.
Offensively, he averages 0.9 shots per game, averages 1 key pass per game (any pass leading to a shot) and he completes 1 successful dribble per game evidencing why he is often fouled by opponents.
Shoretire also completes 76.3% of his passes per match, though he barely attempts a long ball or a through pass as he averages 0.9 long balls and 0.2 key passes per game.
Defensively, the English-born forward averages one tackle per game but rarely makes a block or an interception. He also commits 1.8 fouls per game due to his inexperience.
Shoretire is far from ready for first-team action at Manchester United, going by the above evidence.
He should go out on loan to another team in the summer where game time is guaranteed if he hopes to make a mark at Old Trafford anytime soon.
