Lens join Brentford in race to sign defender who impressed for Super Eagles v Guinea-Bissau
Published: March 31, 2023
French Ligue 1 side Racing Club de Lens are the latest club linked with a summer move for Super Eagles and Fenerbahce right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel.
They will have to slug it out with English Premier League side Brentford for the signature of the former QPR player.
The Bees earlier this week had also been reported to be interested in the Nigerian international.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Lens will make an official approach to sign the Blackpool academy product in the summer.
Osayi-Samuel has featured 17 times for Fenerbahce this season in the Turkish Super Lig and has 1 assist.
The 25-year-old was outstanding for the Super Eagles in their two-legged tie against Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He won the penalty that gave Nigeria the victory at the Estadio 24 de Setembro on Monday evening.
Lens sit third at the moment in the French Ligue 1 table with 57 points from twenty eight games played.
Przemyslaw Frankowski and Julien Le Cardinal are the current options at right/wing-back for RC Lens but the French outfit are seeking to bolster that position with the addition of Osayi-Samuel.
