Napoli provide fresh injury update on Super Eagles striker Osimhen pre-AC Milan
Published: April 01, 2023
Italian Serie A champions in waiting Napoli have provided a fresh injury update on their star striker Victor Osimhen before their meeting with AC Milan at the Diego Maradona Stadium - a game that corresponds to the 28th round of matches in the division.
The Azzurri players trained at the SSCN Konami Training Center on Saturday morning.
Osimhen suffered an adductor injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles this week and will not be available for selection in Sunday evening's clash against Milan.
The 24-year-old went the distance in the double-header against Guinea-Bissau but wasn't himself, firing blanks in Abuja and Bissau.
Napoli confirmed through their official website that the club's record acquisition performed therapies as his teammates sweated it out on the pitch on Saturday.
The Naples outfit have not stated how long the Super Eagles striker will be out of action, but things should become clearer next week when his condition is evaluated again.
A key figure for Napoli, Osimhen has mustered 21 goals in this season's Serie A, more than any other player in the division.
The Napoli medical team will be hoping to get Osimhen back into shape before the club's Champions League quarterfinal clash with AC Milan on April 12.
