Free-scoring Nigerian striker Gift Orban has been named in the Belgian Pro League team of the week by the Dutch news outlet, VoetbalPrimeur.
This follows his exceptional performance for KAA Gent in their 5-0 win over FC Seraing over the weekend where the Nigerian scored two goals and an assist.
Orban got his first goal in the 18th minute and registered his brace six minutes into the second half. He was also responsible for assisting Hugo Cuypers with Gent's third goal in the 54th minute.
The 20-year-old has now registered 11 goal contributions(9 goals and 2 assists) in the league since making his debut for Gent in February.
It will interest you to know that Orban's nine league goals were scored in four games and it is only in one of those games that he failed to score at least two goals.
Since joining, he has only failed to score or assist in two games.
With Orban's weekly goalscoring exploits, several clubs in Europe are monitoring him ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
Here is the full list of the eleven players that made the team : Hervé Koffi (Sporting Charleroi; Toby Alderweireld (Antwerp), Matte Smets (Sint-Truidense V.V.), Hugo Siquet (Cercle Brugge), Théo Ndicka (KV Oostende); Majeed Ashimeru (Anderlecht), Steven Alzate (Standard de Liège), Mike Trésor (KRC Genk); Gift Orban (Gent), Hugo Cuyper (Gent), Noa Lang (Club Brugge)
