Man Utd-owned midfielder Oyedele shows his worth, scores third goal in 2023
Published: April 07, 2023Manchester United-owned midfielder Maxi Oyedele continues to catch the eye at National League club Altrincham.
The Poland U19 international of Nigerian descent joined the fifth-tier side in the January transfer window in search of regular first team football, rather than playing with United's U18 and development squads.
Oyedele played a key role as Altrincham came from two goals down to salvage a point in a thrilling contest against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on Friday afternoon.
The visitors saw themselves trailing by two goals with ten minutes left on the clock, after Joe Nuttall's first half opener and Bassala Sambou's header from a set-piece in the 74th minute.
Oyedele entered the fray in the 58th minute when he replaced Elliot Osbourne - his ninth appearance in the division since his arrival at the Robins.
The 18-year-old, a member of Manchester United's FA Youth Cup-winning side last season, pulled one back in the 81st minute when he rifled in an effort from twenty yards out, taking his tally in the league to three goals.
Oyedele's other strikes came in back-to-back matches against Woking and Barnet in February.
With a minute to go, Tyrese Sinclair nodded home from a few yards out to restore parity for Altrincham.
