England planning to secure the future of Arsenal's Golden Eaglets-eligible midfielder
Published: April 26, 2023The English Football Association are ahead of their Nigerian counterparts in the race for the services of Arsenal youth team midfielder Ifeoluwa Ibrahim, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Ibrahim has been called up by England U15s head coach Neil Ryan for the prestigious Pinatar SuperCup 2023.
The Young Lions will face United States, Spain and Japan during the tournament which will take place at the Pinatar Arena (San Pedro del Pinatar) in Murcia.
Ibrahim has been named in the England U15s starting lineup for their opening game against the United States on Wednesday.
However, that game does not provisionally cap-tie him to England as it's only a friendly, meaning he can suit up for the Golden Eaglets straightaway without requesting a change of association.
Although Ibrahim was brought up in England, he acts like a Nigerian as he has been taught the culture by his Nigerian parents.
It is envisaged that the promising teenager, who is currently on schoolboy terms, will be offered a scholarship by Arsenal in the not too distant future, given the progress he has made over the last few seasons.
