Published: May 07, 2023
Super Eagles star Bright Osayi-Samuel was in the headline for the wrong reason as he was engaged in a fracas that ensued between Fenerbahçe players and their opponents, Giresunspor on matchday 33 of the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday evening.
With the scores level at 1-1, Fenerbahçe players were trying so hard to get a winner so that they could go level on points with table toppers, Galatasaray.
In the 97th minute, Fenerbahçe got a throw-in which was to be taken by Osayi-Samuel but was delayed by Giresunspor coach İrfan Buz.
This angered the Nigerian defender and he pushed Buz which sparked a melee.
After the final whistle, players from the two teams confronted one another which attracted the attention of the policemen who attempted to calm the two sides.
Osayi-Samuel didn't get away with his action as he was brandished a yellow card for his action and could be set for more disciplinary action for his role in the fracas.
The 25-year-old has started 10 games for Fenerbahçe in the Super Lig this season and he has come off the bench on 12 occasions.
