Report: Tottenham Hotspur weighing up move for 2017 Super Eagles invitee
Published: May 15, 2023Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a summer move for 2017 Super Eagles invitee Eberechi Eze as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
According to Spanish transfer market website Fichjaes, Tottenham are considering signing Eze as a replacement for Swedish winger, Dejan Kulusevski.
Kulusevski joined Spurs from Juventus on an 18-month loan deal in January 2022 with an option to buy at the end of his loan spell which will only be triggered if certain sporting goals were achieved.
However, the north London side will not be participating in the Champions League next season which might mean a likely departure for Kulusevski.
Per the report, this is the reason Tottenham are interested in Eze who has been in brilliant form for Crystal Palace lately.
The 24-year-old netted a brace over the weekend to take his goal tally to 10, which makes him Crystal Palace's top scorer this season in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles-eligible player has two years left on his contract with the Eagles which might prompt the club to sell him this summer unless he extends his contract.
Eze is a player of interest to the Nigerian Federation and trained with the Super Eagles in London before a canceled friendly against Burkina Faso in March 2017.
