AC Milan midfielder Eletu still being expected, misses Flying Eagles' friendly v Colombia
Published: May 16, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Flying Eagles manager Ladan Bosso will not be able to count on the services of AC Milan wonderkid Victor Eletu for the national team's last preparatory game before the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
As at 1703 hours Nigerian time ,Eletu has yet to report for international duty in Buenos Aires, which effectively rules him out of the friendly against Colombia at the October 20 Stadium, Tristán Suárez.
The Flying Eagles have just finished a team meeting and are now on their way to the stadium for the friendly against the South Americans.
With the exception of Eletu, Bosso is expected to field his strongest starting lineup against Colombia and should also give minutes to some fringe players in his squad.
Nigeria defeated Primera Nacional Zone A club Club Almirante Brown in their first friendly on Argentinian soil on Friday night, with Salim Fago, Emmanuel Umeh and Tochukwu Nnadi getting on the scoresheet.
Colombia were held to a 2-2 draw by Club Social y Deportivo Tristán Suárez in their first preparatory game in Argentina.
The Nigeria Football Federation have arranged the friendly against the Tricolors to prepare the Flying Eagles for a potentially troublesome match at the World Cup against five-time world champions Brazil on May 27.
