Nigeria ready to battle England, USA for Arsenal Women U16s Invincibles box-to-box midfielder

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that the Nigeria Football Federation are keeping tabs on talented box-to-box midfielder Omotara Junaid with a view to inviting her to the Nigerian national teams.

Junaid qualifies to represent three countries, namely, Nigeria through her parents, United States where she was born, as well as England through residency.

The American-born starlet lived in Nigeria for some years before moving to England with her parents.

Although the English Football Association are in pole position for the services of Junaid given that she has played non-binding games for the Young Lionesses, it is understood that she would love to play for Nigeria if given the opportunity.

Junaid was one of the standout players as Arsenal Women U16s side clinched the league title and an invincible season, having scored nine goals to emerge as the club's second highest goalscorer in the FA Girls' England Talent Pathway League.

Arsenal Women's youth team coaches have deployed her as a right-back in the past but have recommended that her best position on the pitch is the number 8 role.

Junaid, who is also comfortable playing as a winger, is good on the ball, does not shy away from a tackle and has a good physique for her age.

Her older brother, Tolu was on the brink of being included in the Golden Eaglets squad to the ongoing Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Algeria after impressing in friendly matches, only to be dropped at the last minute.
