Manchester United told they must pay N80b to sign Napoli striker Osimhen
Published: May 24, 2023
Manchester United have been told to pay £140 million (approximately N80 billion in Nigerian currency) for the services of Nigerian and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The Mirror UK has reported that the Red Devils will need to fork out the aforementioned fee to prize Osimhen away from Napoli.
The Super Eagles star is one of the strikers linked with Erik ten Hag's side as they intend to address their goalscoring woes this summer.
While Tottenham Hotspur's striker, Harry Kane is the club's number-one target, the Red Devils consider Osimhen as a credible alternative.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season, notching 28 goals in all competitions for Napoli.
He has been strongly linked with Chelsea who are also in desperate need of a striker, while Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on him.
Manchester United are also said to be closing in on Osimhen's teammate at Napoli, Kim Min-jae.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner is under contract at Napoli until June 30, 2025.
