Arsenal's Nigeria-eligible goalkeeper drawing interest from English and German clubs
Published: May 28, 2023
Arsenal goalkeeper of Nigerian descent Arthur Okonkwo has attracted the interest of several English and German clubs.
According to Goal.com, Okonkwo has caught the eye of English and German clubs with his performances on loan with Sturm Graz in the Austria Bundesliga
Okonkwo spent the first half of the season at Crewe Alexandra in the EFL League Two before joining the Austrian outfit in the January transfer window.
He made his league debut in Sturm Graz's 1-0 victory over Rapid Vienna in February and has started all their matches in the Austrian Bundesliga since then.
The 21-year-old has made 17 appearances for Sturm Graz in all competitions conceding 16 goals and keeping six clean sheets.
With Aaron Ramsdale and Matt Turner establishing themselves as Arsenal's first and second choice goalkeepers respectively, the Gunners could offload Okonkwo to raise funds for their summer businesses if the right bid comes in.
Sturm Graz are also in the mix to sign Okonkwo with a season-long loan move being mooted for the Hale End Academy graduate.
