'Hits the ball like an animal' - Italy U20 striker reveals his admiration for Osimhen
Published: May 31, 2023
Speaking from Italy's U20 World Cup camp, Napoli-owned striker Giuseppe Ambrosino has revealed his admiration for Nigeria international Victor Osimhen.
Ambrosino was kept in check as the Flying Eagles defeated Italy 2-0 in their second group game of the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina, but he bounced back in the final group game with a goal and assist as the Europeans thrashed whipping boys Dominican Republic 3-0 to progress to the round of 16.
The 19-year-old was the Campionato Primavera 1 top scorer in the 2021-2022 season with nineteen goals in 31 games.
He was farmed out on loan to Como in the first half of the season to aid his development and spent the second half of the campaign at Cittadella.
Osimhen was instrumental to Napoli winning the Serie A title for the first time in thirty three years and he's the top scorer in the division with 25 goals heading into the final day of the season.
Ambrosino told Il Mattino, via Spazionapoli :"I feel ready for Serie A. Osimhen is a very strong player and I admire him a lot during training. I like his desire to do everything and hit the ball like an animal."
Ambrosino and his Italy U20 teammates will face England in the round of 16 of the World Cup on Wednesday night.
