Confirmed: Anglo-Nigerian right-back returns to Arsenal after loan spell in Scotland
Published: June 04, 2023
With a statement on their official website, Kilmarnock have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2022-2023 Scottish Premiership season.
A decision has been made on the future of Anglo-Nigerian defender Ryan Alebiosu, who spent the entirety of the recently concluded season at Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock have confirmed that Alebiosu will be returning to his parent club Arsenal for the time being.
The Hale End Academy product joined Kilmarnock in search of game time at senior level and departs Kilmarnock after twenty nine appearances in all competitions over the course of the 2022-2023 campaign.
It was Alebiosu's second loan spell as an Arsenal player, having spent the second part of the 2021-2022 campaign at Crewe Alexandra.
He has received two call-ups to Arsenal's first team, against Burnley in the Premier League and Liverpool in the Carabao Cup in January 2022, but was a non-playing substitute in both matches.
Alebiosu joined Arsenal at the age of seven after he was spotted by a Gunners scout while playing in a tournament for his local club, Lyndhurst, and signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2020.
Originally a right winger when he arrived at Arsenal, he has been used in various positions including right-back, center back, right midfield and wing-back.
