L'Equipe indicates Super Eagles vice-captain is surplus to requirements at Nantes

Famous French sports daily L'Equipe has indicated that Nantes are set to offload Super Eagles vice-captain Moses Simon following his poor performances for the club in the just concluded campaign.

As reported by Tribune Nantais making reference to Friday's print edition of L'Equipe, Nantes are ready to part company with Simon in the summer despite the winger having a year left on his contract.

Simon registered five goals and four assists in 46 all-competition appearances for the Canaries in the 2022-2023 season.

The 27-year-old could only register two assists since the start of the year and didn't score for six months with his last goal coming in November last year.

This is in contrast with his form in the previous season when he scored 6 goals and provided 8 assists and played a key role as Nantes won the Coupe De France.

The left winger initially joined Nantes on a loan deal in the 2019-2020 season from Levante before he was signed on a permanent deal at the end of that season.

He has made 146 appearances in all competitions for the French outfit, notching 26 goals and twenty-six assists.
