The length and financial details of the contract have not been disclosed by the German Bundesliga side.
With his permanent transfer to Werder Bremen, Ihendu has ended his five-year association with RB Leipzig.

He played in thirteen games in the A-Junioren Bundesliga North/Northeast, scoring one goal, and was also in action in the DFB-Pokal der Junioren against Nürnberg U19.
Werder Bremen revealed that Ihendu will begin training with the U23s but will also work with the first team on a regular basis as from July 5th.
In his first words as a player of Werder Bremen, Ihendu told the club's official website: "I’m looking forward to my time in Bremen and I’m certain that this is the right step for my development".
Clemens Fritz, Werder Bremen's head of professional football, describes Ihendu as a talented young centre-back who has got a really good physique and strong in the air.
